Concept/Design

The team collected and analyzed data such as the number of vehicles, freight trucks, bicycles and pedestrians using the road. We looked at the condition of the pavement, sidewalks, and utilities and presented this information to the community. We used your input to develop potential improvements and incorporate them into the final design, which is expected by the end of 2024 with construction starting in 2025.

2023 Community Survey Results

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 600 North community survey. Almost 300 of you shared your ideas, concerns, and comments. Your feedback has been extremely valuable in helping us understand the priorities of the Fairpark and Rose Park communities and surrounding areas, specifically how you use the road now, how you want to use it in the future, and what you want, or don't want, to see changed.

The priorities expressed in the survey reflect those received in the previous outreach done in 2020-2021.

Specifically, that there is a desire for more green space and investment in the neighborhood, and that safety for people walking and riding bikes is a priority.

Previous Study

This concept study is a new phase of a previous project the city undertook in 2021 to understand community priorities and concerns regarding the road. Several initial road design concepts were created and shared with the public to get their comments. We are building on those outreach and design efforts to update these concepts and design the road so it can be built in 2025.
